J. FRANK BETTS ELECTED ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL CHAIRMAN
(Jackson, MS) J. Frank Betts, Managing Member of the Jackson based firm of Eubank & Betts, PLLC, was elected Chairman of the International Board of Directors of CPA Associates International, Inc. at the annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. He will serve a two-year term as the Chairman.
CPA Associates International, Inc. is an association of accounting firms comprised of 144 firms and 285 offices worldwide with 52 members in the United States and 92 Members in 70 foreign counties. The Association assists firms in all areas of their accounting and consulting practices.

Mr. Betts is a founding member of Eubank, Betts, Hirn, Wood, PLLC. His audit, tax and accounting experience allows him to serve the firm's clients in these areas. He is also the Director-in-Charge of Peer Review Services and assists many U.S. CPA Firms in complying with the standards in the quality of their audit and accounting practices. His experience as an auditor, co-authorship of "Guide to Auditor's Reports" and many years of service on AICPA and MSCPA boards and technical committees has earned the firm recognition as a leader in the public accounting profession.

EUBANK, BETTS, HIRN, WOOD, PLLC GIVES COOKBOOK PROCEEDS TO GATEWAY RESCUE MISSION
(Jackson, MS) Anyone who has a loved one or friend who is an accountant knows that food is a very important part of "Tax Season." Accounting firms provide lunch and/or dinner to employees who work long hours preparing tax returns before the April 15 deadline.
Now add in the fact that Eubank, Betts, Hirn, Wood, PLLC feels that giving back to the community is very important and you will understand why creating a cookbook for charity was a good idea.
Eubank & Betts Best, Recipes You Can Count On has 100 pages of recipes provided by Eubank & Betts' staff, family and friends who generously contributed their favorite ones. Some of the recipes included are treasured family keepsakes and some are new; however, they all reflect the love of good cooking.
All proceeds from the sell of the cookbook went to Gateway Rescue Mission. The Mission offers life-changing hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to homeless men, women and children through programs to deliver food, shelter, counseling and discipleship.
Jimmy Wood, CPA presented the $1,500 check from the Firm to Gateway Rescue on July 28, 2009.
"We are very grateful for this donation. This money will go toward finishing the renovation of the Mission Kitchen," said Patricia S. Melvin, Gateway Rescue Mission Associate Director.

Bradley Hardin recently joined the CPA firm of Eubank Betts Hirn Wood, PLLC as a staff accountant. He is a graduate of Mississippi College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting.
Will Christian recently joined the CPA firm of Eubank Betts Hirn Wood, PLLC as a Staff Accountant. He is a graduate of Millsaps College where he received a BSBA in Accounting.
Chris Walker recently joined the CPA firm of Eubank Betts Hirn Wood, PLLC as a Senior Accountant. He is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi where he received a Master in Professional Accountancy and a BSBA in Accounting. Previously employed with a CPA firm in Mississippi as a Senior Associate, Mr. Walker has five years of experience in auditing.
Faye Carole Cleveland recently joined the CPA firm of Eubank Betts Hirn Wood, PLLC. Previously employed with a CPA firm in Mississippi, she is a certified public accountant with over 30 years of experience. Mrs. Cleveland is a graduate of The University of Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting.
Matthew Thiel recently joined as a Senior Accountant in the firm's tax and audit departments. He graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Master of Taxation in May of 2008. Previously employed with a CPA firm in Birmingham, Alabama as an accountant, Mr. Thiel has two years of experience in tax and auditing.
